Info on Zagreb, Croatia

Zagreb is the capital of Croatia. Current population - 960.000 (1991 census).

The following city maps are supposed to help you find yourself in the town.
There are three versions available.

The official currency in Croatia is Kuna (pronounced as "coona"). Kuna is quite stable currency, and the exchange rates are:

Croatian banks exchange all hard currencies to kunas and vice versa, although you will have less problems having USD and especially DEM.

The city is quite modern and central-european. There are lots of Catholic churches, few Protestant ones and a Mosk. The time table will be prepared for you upon your arrival in Zagreb.

Living in Zagreb is SAFE now. The last SCUD-type missile attack happend in May, 1995. The remnants of the 1991-1995 war are barely visible.

Palace is one of the oldest hotels in Zagreb, built in the Secession style with adequte interior decoration. It is located 5 minutes walk from the city center, 20 minutes drive from Zagreb Airport, and 1 minute walk from the U.S. Embassy.
