Talk: OpenCode.HR – from idea to working platform

The OpenCode.HR open-source platform is a common platform for the exchange of open-source code for (at the moment) the academic and scientific community of the Republic of Croatia, started in January 2026. It provides users with a collaborative environment for the development, use and sharing of software solutions and projects in educational and scientific research contexts. OpenCode.HR fosters collaboration on open-source projects, encourages transparency and openness, and facilitates knowledge sharing. The platform runs on infrastructure provided by the University Computing Centre – SRCE.

In this presentation, we will show the main ideas and goals behind the project, explain how the platform was born, what hurdles we had to overcome, and what the main steps were in creating this truly community project.

We will also show its current state, examples of projects on opencode.hr, the technology and tools used to run it, and discuss plans and challenges that lie ahead. You will learn how to join this initiative, contribute to its development and help it grow.

Join us for an engaging session and become part of the conversation about the future of open-source projects.
